Account Management

DevLingo uses a passwordless authentication design and offers two sign-in methods:

On first launch of the macOS app, click the Apple Sign In button. The system will verify your identity using your Apple ID. This is the fastest and most secure method — no password to remember.

Select Magic Link and enter your email address. We’ll send you an email with a login link. Click the link to sign in — no password needed, a completely passwordless experience.

  1. Open DevLingo
  2. Click the DevLingo icon in the menu bar
  3. Select Settings > Subscription
  4. View your current plan, renewal date, and usage statistics

In the subscription settings, click Upgrade or Change Plan. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.

Users who purchased via the web with a License Key can manage their subscription at dashboard.devglish.com.

  1. Open Settings > Data > Export
  2. Select CSV format
  3. The file includes all saved entries, definitions, examples, and learning progress

To delete your account:

  1. Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
  2. Enter your email address to confirm
  3. After deletion, all data is permanently removed (including Word Book, learning history, and sync data)

Sign in on multiple Mac devices using the same Apple ID or email. The Word Book and learning progress automatically sync across all devices.

License Keys are bound to your account (not to a device), so you can sign in on any Mac to restore your license. The system performs a daily online verification.

Cloud sync uses a last-write-wins strategy: the most recently modified version takes priority. Offline edits are automatically merged when the network is restored.

DevLingo requires the following permissions:

  • Accessibility permission: For the global hotkey (⌘⇧D) and cross-app text selection
  • Network connection: For AI lookups, cloud sync, and pronunciation synthesis
  • Microphone (optional): Only needed if you want to record your own pronunciation
